Founded in 2000 by Olga Tkachenko on the island of Cyprus, the School of Zikr focuses on vibe-meditative singing and offers a practical approach to self-discovery, healing, and spiritual development through the power of sound and one's voice.
The School of Zikr teaches:
● vocalization techniques: how to use the voice correctly to create certain vibrations and sounds;● different forms of singing: meditative songs, mantras, sound practices that promote relaxation and immersion;● work with breath: the relationship between breath and voice to achieve a meditative state;● conscious singing: how to be present in the moment while singing, feel the vibrations and their impact;● using sound for healing: how sound can affect the emotional and physical state;● collective singing: the practice of jointly creating sound vibrations to enhance the effect and sense of unity.
Learning is useful for:
- personal development and self-knowledge: through the study of one's own voice and its vibrations, one can understand oneself more deeply.- improving psycho-emotional state: regular practice can help cope with stress, anxiety, and emotional instability.- developing creative abilities: experiments with sound and voice can expand creative boundaries.- deepening meditative practice: singing can become a more accessible way of meditation for those who find it difficult to concentrate in silence.- finding a community: school is a meeting place for like-minded people interested in sound practices and spiritual development.
