ABOUT OLGA'S MUSIC
Symphonic singing
The uniqueness of Olga's music
Uniqueness is pure and never-repeating improvisation, a kind of mystery, the framework of which is determined by the theme. The content is determined by the spiritual world of the artist herself and the atmosphere of the hall. The musical form is determined by the compositional talent and rare vocal techniques of Olga Tkachenko. She does not academically sing, relying on the harmonic series that is familiar to our ears; she goes deeper and voices the essence of the content of the theme of her improvisations, using the sophisticated technique of vibrational voicing. The sound is born inside the body, and thanks to body resonators and vibrations, a specific timbre is obtained. Thus, music is born right on the stage.
Exploring voice possibilities
Initially, Olga and her partner of Duo Zikr wanted to draw people's attention to the possibilities of the human voice. For a long time, the artists mastered various archaic singing techniques of the peoples of the world, аnd based on this deep material, they decided to create a voice theater. The duo worked hard to improve their vocal technique. Olga studied classical vocals with the Italian vocal teacher Tiziana Soyat and supplemented her skills with classical vocal techniques.Researching the possibilities of the voice is what inspires Olga to create her music, which is born right on stage. The artist shows that the human voice can sound like an organ and convey what cannot be conveyed in words: the life of the human soul.
Olga's music is free from genre stereotypes
The music of Olga Tkachenko, Duo Zikr, and FireVoices does not fit into any musical format, the artists are so original and unusual that any comparisons and attempts to attribute their music to any style are simply inappropriate. Their original creativity is free from any genre stereotypes. In the compositions, you can hear a variety of directions: from classical music and ethnic singing to modern free jazz and fashionable club formats.
The artists experimented a lot with different styles, performing together with jazzmen, rock musicians, avant-garde artists, instrumentalists, organists, and even with a symphony orchestra.
Author's singing technique
In her work, Olga Tkachenko relies on the deep traditions of world musical culture and at the same time acts as an innovator, offering listeners a new style, a new sound, and a new musical aesthetic.
The soloist uses her original singing technique - a unique combination of vocal techniques, including classical (chamber) vocals, archaic processions of European and Eastern folk vocals: Tuvan throat and Sufi singing, Tibetan mantra music, etc.
The work of Olga Tkachenko, Duo Zikr, and Fire Voices attracts many famous musicians and people of other creative professions, with whom the artists are connected by joint projects.
